The honey market today contains both genuine and adulterated products, so it pays to know the basics before buying.
Authentic honey, when lifted with a spoon, will flow in a
continuous, unbroken stream — not drip in separate drops. It has a noticeably high viscosity, and may
crystallize naturally over time, which is actually a sign of
100% pure honey with no added sugar or additives.
Adulterated or fake honey, by contrast, tends to be thin, watery, and lacks a distinct floral scent.
Beyond visual checks, the most reliable approach is to buy from a
manufacturer that holds GMP and HACCP certification, with full traceability back to the source bee farms.
