Beeswax Rendering After Honey Extraction
Beeswax, commonly known as “wax,” is secreted from wax glands located on the underside of a bee’s abdomen. Bees use it to build honeycombs, repair cells, and cap combs. Beeswax is classified as a natural animal-derived wax and can be obtained through several stages of beekeeping, such as from excess honeycombs, wax cappings removed before honey extraction, and old combs collected from hives.
